1) Do we support reforestation?

We are in the Chihuahuan Desert region. We support “regrassing” and reseeding since we are located in the grassland foothills of the Davis Mountains, TX. Grasses are also recognized as a carbon sink. We offer lectures about the benefits of grasslands, we have a large indoor exhibit, booklets about grasses in the Trans Pecos Region of the Chihuahuan Desert, and we have an extensive Native Grasses Exhibit inside the Botanical Gardens grounds.

2) Convert parking spaces into green spaces?

We have an adequate size gravel parking area surrounded by natural green space. We are located in an extremely rural part of Far West Texas.

3) Conduct region-specific research related to climate change?

It’s ongoing and will continue to be changing for the foreseeable future. How can anyone put a date on research of climate change as “Already completed” “By End of 2025”, etc.
