Med mer \u00e4n 160.000 medlemmar och 41.000 hektar skyddad mark \u00e4r det den st\u00f6rsta naturskyddsorganisationen i New England.  Mass Audubon \u00e4r v\u00e4lk\u00e4nd f\u00f6r sina naturskyddsomr\u00e5den, men st\u00f6djer ocks\u00e5 samh\u00e4llsengagemang och medvetenhet i stadsomr\u00e5den genom att st\u00f6dja klimatutbildning, biologisk m\u00e5ngfald, folkh\u00e4lsa och etablering av gr\u00f6nomr\u00e5den. Programmet best\u00e5r av nio aktiva regionala planeringsteam, vart och ett med fem till tio ungdomsledare och en vuxen mentor. De regionala teamen centrerar sitt arbete kring \u00e5rliga klimatprojekt i sina skolor eller samh\u00e4llen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dessutom anordnar varje team ett regionalt toppm\u00f6te baserat p\u00e5 ett tema, d\u00e4r studenter fr\u00e5n andra regioner v\u00e4lkomnas f\u00f6r att l\u00e4ra sig och dela med sig till sina kamrater. Teamen i hela delstaten h\u00e5ller kontakten genom m\u00e5natliga incheckningar och \u00e5rliga retreater som h\u00e5lls virtuellt och fysiskt. I slutet av \u00e5ret delar eleverna med sig av vad de har \u00e5stadkommit genom Youth Climate Showcases.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Programmet forts\u00e4tter att v\u00e4xa, och dessa regionala toppm\u00f6ten och showcases fungerar ocks\u00e5 som en utm\u00e4rkt punkt f\u00f6r rekrytering. N\u00e4r nya studenter ansluter sig till sina v\u00e4nner f\u00f6r att delta i evenemanget vill de ofta engagera sig mer i YCLP. Programmet har dessutom ett n\u00e4ra samarbete med l\u00e4rare och skolor i hela delstaten och samarbetar med gr\u00f6na team och milj\u00f6klubbar utanf\u00f6r skoltid f\u00f6r att st\u00f6dja varandras arbete. F\u00f6r att engagera yngre elever i klimat\u00e5tg\u00e4rder har Mass Audubon en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.massaudubon.org\/programs\/arcadia\/92949-little-leaders\">\"Sm\u00e5 ledare\"<\/a> program f\u00f6r elever i \u00e5ldern 11-12 \u00e5r, vilket ofta \u00e4r en v\u00e4g in i YCLP.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Projekt f\u00f6r klimat\u00e5tg\u00e4rder<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Klimatprojekten sp\u00e4nner \u00f6ver olika intresseomr\u00e5den och bakgrunder. Eftersom eleverna tillbringar en stor del av sin tid i skolan b\u00f6rjar m\u00e5nga projekt med att fokusera p\u00e5 ineffektivitet i skolans lokaler eller verksamhet. Ett team samarbetade till exempel med en lokal organisation f\u00f6r att f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra energieffektiviteten i sin skola genom att byta ut ineffektiva gl\u00f6dlampor och kranar, installera smarta armaturer och l\u00e4gga till belysningstimer. Ofta \u00e4r kafeterian en v\u00e4rdefull startpunkt genom program f\u00f6r matdelning, komposteringsprojekt eller eliminering av plastredskap.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00e5nga projekt b\u00f6rjar i liten skala och kan sedan v\u00e4xa till att omfatta hela samh\u00e4llet eller mer. Eleverna p\u00e5verkar inte bara policy och verksamhet p\u00e5 sina skolor, utan g\u00f6r ocks\u00e5 sina r\u00f6ster h\u00f6rda p\u00e5 ett st\u00f6rre plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>P\u00e5verkansarbete och policy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Genom att delta i politiska samtal arbetar YCLP-projekten f\u00f6r att skapa f\u00f6rtroende mellan politiker och studenter. Det <a href=\"https:\/\/www.massaudubon.org\/places-to-explore\/wildlife-sanctuaries\/wellfleet-bay\/news\/youth-climate-leaders-making-an-impact-on-the-cape\">Cape Cod-laget<\/a> h\u00f6ll ett fiktivt kommunfullm\u00e4ktigem\u00f6te som en del av sitt toppm\u00f6te och inspirerade ett team att delta i ett riktigt kommunfullm\u00e4ktigem\u00f6te och f\u00f6respr\u00e5ka energieffektivitet. Det <a href=\"https:\/\/www.massaudubon.org\/places-to-explore\/wildlife-sanctuaries\/allens-pond\/news\/fall-river-youth-climate-leadership-program-visits-the-massachusetts-state-house\">Fall River YCLP<\/a> gruppen \u00e5kte nyligen till delstatshuset f\u00f6r att tr\u00e4ffa representanter och f\u00f6respr\u00e5ka tillg\u00e5ng till Taunton River f\u00f6r lokalsamh\u00e4llet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mass Audubon och YCLP samarbetar med samh\u00e4llsorganisationer f\u00f6r att lyfta fram relevant lagstiftning. Nyligen, i samarbete med <a href=\"https:\/\/ourclimate.us\/state-campaigns\/\">V\u00e5rt klimat<\/a>De hj\u00e4lpte till att f\u00f6respr\u00e5ka ett lagf\u00f6rslag om tv\u00e4rvetenskaplig klimatutbildning med fokus p\u00e5 att ut\u00f6ka tv\u00e4rvetenskapliga, l\u00f6sningsorienterade l\u00e4roplaner i hela delstaten. M\u00e5nga studenter forts\u00e4tter att engagera sig i klimatarbete efter sin tid i programmet, men m\u00e5nga till\u00e4mpar ocks\u00e5 de f\u00e4rdigheter de har l\u00e4rt sig inom sina olika intressen och bakgrunder.
