N\u00e4r ni g\u00e5r vidare med era revisionsrekommendationer kan besparingarna vara l\u00e5ngsiktiga och i vissa fall kan det inte finnas n\u00e5gra besparingar annat \u00e4n f\u00f6r m\u00e4nniskors och planetens h\u00e4lsa - men alla \u00e4r viktiga f\u00f6r att ta itu med dessa fr\u00e5gor p\u00e5 ett helt\u00e4ckande s\u00e4tt och ge ett exempel p\u00e5 h\u00f6g niv\u00e5 f\u00f6r andra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Exempel p\u00e5 energihantering i offentliga tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rdar<\/strong>:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Tv\u00e5 organisationer som framg\u00e5ngsrikt har minskat sina utsl\u00e4pp av v\u00e4xthusgaser \u00e4r New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) och Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. NYBG f\u00f6rlitar sig f\u00f6r n\u00e4rvarande starkt p\u00e5 en \u00e5rlig koldioxid- och energirevision f\u00f6r att fastst\u00e4lla omr\u00e5den med h\u00f6ga koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp och har f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrat sina energisystem genom att konvertera till ett renare uppv\u00e4rmningssystem med naturgas, uppgradera sina AC-system, renovera sitt ventilationssystem och delta i efterfr\u00e5gestyrning och upps\u00f6kande program. Genom dessa insatser har NYBG minskat sitt koldioxidavtryck med 53% per kvadratmeter, vilket ger en \u00e5rlig besparing p\u00e5 cirka $300.000. De har investerat i ett l\u00e5ngsiktigt \u00e5tagande att konsekvent f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra sitt energisystem f\u00f6r att minska sina koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/climatetoolkit.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/CSL-Phipps-1-1024x481.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-390\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Under den flerfasiga expansionen utgick Phipps fr\u00e5n att m\u00e4nniskors h\u00e4lsa och milj\u00f6n \u00e4r beroende av varandra. De visste att de nya och renoverade byggnaderna m\u00e5ste vara vackra, funktionella och effektiva. De tre senaste projekten, Center for Sustainable Landscapes, Nature Lab och Exhibit Staging Center, \u00e4r alla nettopositiva, vilket inneb\u00e4r att f\u00f6rnybara energik\u00e4llor p\u00e5 plats genererar mer el \u00e4n byggnaderna beh\u00f6ver. Sedan expansionen har Phipps minskat sina totala koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp med 56% per kvadratmeter och anv\u00e4nder nu 100% f\u00f6rnybar el som antingen produceras p\u00e5 plats med sol- och vindenergi eller k\u00f6ps in externt.  Om organisationer inte kan producera f\u00f6rnybar energi p\u00e5 campus kan certifikat f\u00f6r f\u00f6rnybar energi k\u00f6pas fr\u00e5n deras elleverant\u00f6r. \u00c4ven om det inte \u00e4r lika effektivt f\u00f6r att hantera klimatf\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar som produktion p\u00e5 plats, kan anv\u00e4ndning av RECs st\u00f6dja f\u00f6rnybar energi och gr\u00f6n innovation och jobb. Att k\u00f6pa Renewable Energy Certificates \u00e4r ett f\u00f6rsta steg i r\u00e4tt riktning f\u00f6r att minska koldioxidutsl\u00e4ppen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Varje m\u00e5nad samlar Phipps anl\u00e4ggningsteam in gas-, el- och energidata och j\u00e4mf\u00f6r dem med tidigare resultat f\u00f6r att identifiera oegentligheter och avvikelser. Dessutom tr\u00e4ffas en kommitt\u00e9 som representerar alla institutionens avdelningar f\u00f6r att granska data och utbyta id\u00e9er om operativa f\u00f6r\u00e4ndringar som ytterligare kan \u00f6ka effektiviteten och minska utsl\u00e4ppen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rekommendationer<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Climate Toolkit ger tre f\u00f6rslag till varje botanisk tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rd och organisation som vill minska sina koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Genomf\u00f6r en energibesiktning<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Den f\u00f6rsta rekommendationen \u00e4r att genomf\u00f6ra en revision och fastst\u00e4lla baslinjerna f\u00f6r koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp och energi. Det \u00e4r bra att identifiera de sektorer som bidrar mest till utsl\u00e4ppen, eftersom det ofta ger dig en bra startpunkt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Prata med din energileverant\u00f6r<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Den andra rekommendationen \u00e4r att prata med din energileverant\u00f6r om att k\u00f6pa f\u00f6rnybar energi. Phipps producerar f\u00f6r n\u00e4rvarande inte tillr\u00e4ckligt med el p\u00e5 plats f\u00f6r att tillgodose efterfr\u00e5gan fr\u00e5n hela campus, men de kan k\u00f6pa f\u00f6rnybar energi f\u00f6r att kompensera f\u00f6r det som inte produceras p\u00e5 campus. Din elleverant\u00f6r kanske kan f\u00f6resl\u00e5 tillg\u00e4ngliga alternativ f\u00f6r f\u00f6rnybar energi eller andra l\u00f6sningar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Granska koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp p\u00e5 operativ niv\u00e5<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Den sista rekommendationen \u00e4r att bed\u00f6ma och analysera koldioxidutsl\u00e4ppen p\u00e5 operativ niv\u00e5.
