Institutioner kan ta emot f\u00f6rnybar energi p\u00e5 tre olika s\u00e4tt: <strong>Ink\u00f6p, produktion eller en kombination av b\u00e5da<\/strong>. Att producera f\u00f6rnybar energi inneb\u00e4r att generera energi p\u00e5 plats p\u00e5 ditt campus. Att k\u00f6pa energi inneb\u00e4r att man k\u00f6per el genom krediter, avtal, tariffer eller kompensationer. Eftersom produktion p\u00e5 plats \u00e4r det b\u00e4sta s\u00e4ttet att f\u00e5 f\u00f6rnybar energi f\u00f6rs\u00f6ker m\u00e5nga institutioner att producera s\u00e5 mycket som m\u00f6jligt och k\u00f6pa f\u00f6rnybar energi f\u00f6r resten p\u00e5 annat s\u00e4tt. Genom att k\u00f6pa gr\u00f6n energi direkt minskar du dina koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp samtidigt som du minskar trycket p\u00e5 v\u00e5rt energin\u00e4t.<\/li><li><strong>K\u00f6p av kompensations\u00e5tg\u00e4rder.<\/strong> Om du inte har m\u00f6jlighet att k\u00f6pa f\u00f6rnybar energi eller om du vill investera mer i f\u00f6rnybar energi \u00e4r det n\u00e4st b\u00e4sta steget att k\u00f6pa en klimatkompensation. Att k\u00f6pa en offset kan ge ekonomiska medel till projekt eller initiativ som kan ta bort koldioxid fr\u00e5n luften eller till teknik som anv\u00e4nder f\u00f6rnybar energi.<\/li><li><strong>Ink\u00f6p av RECs. <\/strong>Certifikat f\u00f6r f\u00f6rnybar energi kan vara till hj\u00e4lp n\u00e4r du investerar i f\u00f6rnybar energi och minskar dina koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp, men det finns andra alternativ som ger l\u00e5ngsiktiga investeringar i koldioxidborttagning och \u00f6verg\u00e5ng till f\u00f6rnybar energi.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><u>Klimatkompensation vs. krediter f\u00f6r f\u00f6rnybar energi (RECs)<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kompensation f\u00f6r koldioxidutsl\u00e4pp<\/strong> \u00e4r <strong>investeringar i projekt eller initiativ<\/strong> som kommer att minska koldioxidutsl\u00e4ppen, inklusive projekt f\u00f6r avskiljning och lagring av koldioxid, nystartade f\u00f6retag inom f\u00f6rnybar energi, solenergi i lokalsamh\u00e4llen, metanavskiljning osv. K\u00f6pet minskar inte koldioxidf\u00f6rbrukningen men s\u00e4kerst\u00e4ller att din koldioxidanv\u00e4ndning balanseras av en positiv investering. En klimatkompensation m\u00e5ste vara \"verklig, permanent och verifierad\". RECs anv\u00e4nds ofta n\u00e4r institutioner inte kan installera solpaneler eller k\u00f6pa f\u00f6rnybar energi. RECs kallas ocks\u00e5 f\u00f6r r\u00e4ttsliga instrument eftersom de kan <strong>handlas<\/strong>, <strong>k\u00f6ps i buntar,<\/strong> och k\u00f6ps med f\u00f6rnybar energi f\u00f6r att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla ansvarsskyldigheten f\u00f6r f\u00f6rnybar energi.  Renewable Energy Credits m\u00e4ts i generationer om 1MWh. Om en solpanel till exempel genererar 10 MWh el har elbolaget 10 krediter att s\u00e4lja. N\u00e4r du k\u00f6per RECs st\u00f6der du ekonomiskt produktionen av f\u00f6rnybar energi, ut\u00f6kar valet av eltj\u00e4nster och eln\u00e4tet samt st\u00f6der utvecklingen av f\u00f6rnybar el.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c4ven om det kan vara f\u00f6rdelaktigt att k\u00f6pa f\u00f6rnybar energi genom RECs \u00e4r RECs inte en minskning av din f\u00f6rbrukning av fossila br\u00e4nslen utan endast en investering. Om du inte har \u00f6verg\u00e5tt till f\u00f6rnybar energi anv\u00e4nder du fortfarande fossila br\u00e4nslen f\u00f6r att driva dina byggnader. Klimatkompensation och RECs missf\u00f6rst\u00e5s ofta f\u00f6r varandra, men de viktigaste <strong>skillnaden \u00e4r hur de produceras<\/strong>. N\u00e4r f\u00f6rnybar energi produceras skapas krediter (1 REC = 1 MWh), medan kompensationer m\u00e4ts i ton koldioxid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00f6r att f\u00e5 k\u00f6pa klimatkompensation m\u00e5ste du genomf\u00f6ra tester f\u00f6r att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla ansvarsskyldighet. Varje test omfattar \"juridiska\/reglerande, ekonomiska, barri\u00e4rer, allm\u00e4n praxis och gemensamma tester\". Vanligtvis kan din el- eller energileverant\u00f6r ge dig m\u00f6jlighet att k\u00f6pa RECs, som inte kr\u00e4ver att du genomf\u00f6r tester, \u00e4ven om vissa leverant\u00f6rer har en tredjepartsverifiering f\u00f6r att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla deras milj\u00f6f\u00f6rdelar. Ett s\u00e4tt att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla att dina RECs kommer fr\u00e5n en respektfull k\u00e4lla \u00e4r att ha en certifiering av en <strong>oberoende tredje part<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.green-e.org\/\"><strong><em>Green-e<\/em><\/strong><\/a> \u00e4r en ny certifieringsprocess som administreras av <strong>Centrum f\u00f6r resursl\u00f6sningar<\/strong> och s\u00e4kerst\u00e4ller att RECs produceras av en anl\u00e4ggning f\u00f6r f\u00f6rnybar produktion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><u>Gr\u00f6na tullar<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Gr\u00f6na tariffer \u00e4r program p\u00e5 reglerade elmarknader d\u00e4r f\u00f6retag k\u00f6per <strong>paket av f\u00f6rnybar energi<\/strong> fr\u00e5n <strong>Kommissionen f\u00f6r allm\u00e4nnyttiga f\u00f6retag (PUC)<\/strong>. Skillnaden mellan gr\u00f6na tariffer och RECs \u00e4r resultatet av hur en organisation k\u00f6per sin energi. Du kan k\u00f6pa gr\u00f6na tariffer som <strong>paket med f\u00f6rnybar el<\/strong> fr\u00e5n din allm\u00e4nnyttiga kommission till ett fast pris. Dessa ink\u00f6p m\u00f6jligg\u00f6r en direkt transaktion med ett f\u00f6ruts\u00e4gbart pris mellan organisationen och elbolaget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fr\u00e5n och med juni 2020, <strong>36 program f\u00f6r gr\u00f6na tariffer<\/strong> \u00e4r godk\u00e4nda i 19 delstater. Gr\u00f6na tariffer \u00e4r utm\u00e4rkta f\u00f6r organisationer som vill k\u00f6pa stora m\u00e4ngder f\u00f6rnybar energi fr\u00e5n ett lokalt projekt f\u00f6r f\u00f6rnybar energi, ofta inom samma n\u00e4t. Exempel p\u00e5 v\u00e4lk\u00e4nda, stora organisationer som har anv\u00e4nt sig av gr\u00f6na tariffer \u00e4r Apple och Google. EPA organiserade en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8edyttij9eg\">Webinar<\/a> med fokus p\u00e5 att f\u00f6rst\u00e5 Green Tariff-programmet. Det finns m\u00e5nga s\u00e4tt att anv\u00e4nda energik\u00f6psavtal: <strong>fysisk<\/strong>, <strong>sleeved (gr\u00f6na tariffer) och virtuella energik\u00f6psavtal<\/strong>. PPA har p\u00e5 senare tid blivit popul\u00e4rt bland f\u00f6retag som f\u00f6rbrukar stora m\u00e4ngder energi. Faktum \u00e4r att antalet PPA-avtal under 100 MW har f\u00f6rdubblats mellan 2017 och 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fysiska energik\u00f6psavtal avser avtalet mellan stora f\u00f6retag och deras projektutvecklare om att leverera el till k\u00f6paren. Tv\u00e5 specifika typer av fysiska energik\u00f6psavtal \u00e4r p\u00e5 plats och utanf\u00f6r plats. N\u00e4r ett f\u00f6retag har undertecknat kontraktet designar, installerar, underh\u00e5ller och finansierar en tredjepartsutvecklare ett projekt f\u00f6r f\u00f6rnybar energi. F\u00f6retagets f\u00f6rbrukning styr vanligtvis hur energin antingen k\u00f6ps eller anv\u00e4nds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <strong>avtal om k\u00f6p av virtuell el<\/strong> \u00e4r en ny typ av k\u00f6poption f\u00f6r f\u00f6rnybar energi som nyligen har blivit popul\u00e4r. Virtuella PPA \u00e4r en variant av ett PPA d\u00e4r k\u00f6paren f\u00e5r RECs till ett fast pris f\u00f6r kostnaden f\u00f6r den producerade elen. Elen levereras via det allm\u00e4nna eln\u00e4tet. F\u00f6retag som anv\u00e4nder PPA utanf\u00f6r anl\u00e4ggningen f\u00e5r flexibilitet n\u00e4r det g\u00e4ller att hitta en leverant\u00f6r av f\u00f6rnybar energi i n\u00e4rheten av sitt omr\u00e5de. I detta avtal \u00e4ger k\u00f6paren inte och \u00e4r inte ansvarig f\u00f6r den el som produceras av projektet.
