South Coast Botanic Garden is the first botanic garden built over an old landfill. We are committed to realizing our mission of being an excellent example of land reclamation and sustainability. We are faced with many challenges that require us to balance protection of the landfill along with the maintenance and growth of the Garden. We are looking forward to documenting our findings along the way so that future uses of reclaimed space can learn from our experience.
