Existem duas abordagens para reduzir o impacto dos relvados e melhorar o nosso ambiente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A primeira abordagem consiste em <strong>eliminar totalmente o relvado<\/strong>. Isto pode ser feito em algumas circunst\u00e2ncias, mas \u00e9 muitas vezes impratic\u00e1vel, especialmente para os propriet\u00e1rios de casas. A maior parte da nossa redu\u00e7\u00e3o foi obtida atrav\u00e9s de 1) <strong>redu\u00e7\u00e3o do corte dos relvados ou simples elimina\u00e7\u00e3o do corte<\/strong> ou 2) <strong>alterar a nossa gest\u00e3o dos prados e campos para reduzir a frequ\u00eancia de corte<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Um exemplo simples do que uma pessoa comum pode fazer \u00e9 implementar <strong>frequ\u00eancia de corte reduzida<\/strong>. Nesse caso, a diversidade das plantas aumentar\u00e1 com o tempo, \u00e0 medida que outras esp\u00e9cies se introduzem no relvado. Para que serve, que insumos consome, que mensagem transmite, etc.? Que tipo de tempo e de recursos liberta para o pessoal se eliminar o espa\u00e7o relvado?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c9 realmente necess\u00e1rio adotar uma abordagem de custo e benef\u00edcio quando se pensa na manuten\u00e7\u00e3o do relvado. Para as organiza\u00e7\u00f5es que t\u00eam uma miss\u00e3o ambiental ou que est\u00e3o preocupadas com a sustentabilidade, a redu\u00e7\u00e3o do corte ou a aus\u00eancia de corte aumentar\u00e1 a biodiversidade e reduzir\u00e1 o escoamento de fertilizantes.
