Museum of Life and Science

The Museum of Life and Science is involved in climate education in several ways. We opened our climate exhibit “From Here On: Shaping Our Future” in the spring of 2026. This exhibit focuses on how diverse members of our community can participate in and contribute to mitigating the effects of the changing climate. We are also preparing to hold the 6th annual North Carolina Youth Climate Summit. This youth-led event is hosted by a dedicated group of teens who meet after school throughout the year, with guidance from our Museum team, and curate an event that is impactful and relevant to their peers. The summit supports teams as they develop a Climate Action Plan to implement in their own schools and communities. This event has helped bring teens together, educate them on climate change, and support them to make real change in their communities. This year we will also expand our climate change programming with adults, teens, and younger audiences through facilitation with our daily guests, inviting climate scientists to participate in our Teen Science Cafes, and by beginning an adult lecture series that will explore this topic.
