Composto da due giovani leader e 18 giovani consulenti, il gruppo ha sviluppato e realizzato progetti legati all'ambiente, ha acquisito capacit\u00e0 di leadership e di pianificazione di progetti, ha imparato a conoscere la giustizia ambientale e climatica e ha approfondito i temi ambientali preferiti nel corso del programma. Uno degli strumenti pi\u00f9 potenti che abbiamo contro questo fenomeno \u00e8 l'azione collettiva. Avere una rete o un gruppo di persone interessate al cambiamento climatico rende l'attivismo climatico un compito molto pi\u00f9 accessibile. I gruppi che riuniscono gli attivisti per il clima per imparare gli uni dagli altri, permettono alle diverse comunit\u00e0 all'interno del movimento per la giustizia ambientale di riunirsi e di facilitare un senso di forza collettiva e di comunit\u00e0. Il Comitato consultivo per il clima giovanile di Phipps serve a questo scopo, riunendo gli studenti di diversi livelli, quartieri e scuole. Ci\u00f2 consente a ciascun membro di ampliare la propria rete di contatti per future iniziative, la conoscenza di temi ambientali e la visione di soluzioni intersettoriali ed efficaci al cambiamento climatico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creazione del Comitato<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Il Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens ha creato il suo Youth Climate Advisory Committee (YCAC), composto da 20 studenti innovatori delle scuole superiori e dei college, con tre obiettivi condivisi: <strong>educare <\/strong>se stessi e gli altri, <strong>sostenere le loro comunit\u00e0<\/strong> attraverso iniziative legate al clima e <strong>promuovere l'attivismo per il clima<\/strong> con particolare attenzione alla giustizia ambientale. La creazione di uno spazio per discutere dei cambiamenti climatici e l'utilizzo delle risorse concesse da Phipps hanno permesso ai membri del comitato di far sentire la propria voce nella comunit\u00e0 e di lavorare attivamente per raggiungere questi obiettivi sotto forma di progetti a livello comunitario. Nell'estate del 2021 \u00e8 stato lanciato un appello agli educatori pubblici e locali per trovare studenti interessati a far parte della YCAC come membri del comitato. I leader del comitato hanno sviluppato le riunioni utilizzando attivit\u00e0 che hanno permesso ai membri di lavorare insieme e di utilizzare le capacit\u00e0 di pensiero critico per costruire relazioni forti all'interno del comitato. Consentire diverse forme di partecipazione, dalle discussioni in piccoli gruppi, alle discussioni di comitato, ai forum online, ha diversificato la forma di input del comitato permettendo a tutti i membri di condividere le proprie idee e contribuire al gruppo. Grazie a questa collaborazione, ai membri \u00e8 stata data autonomia sulla direzione del comitato. A <a href=\"https:\/\/climatetoolkit.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Charter-Document-for-Youth-Climate-Advisory-Committee-1.pdf\"><strong>documento vivente<\/strong><\/a> \u00e8 stato sviluppato per riflettere i valori e la missione del comitato e per promuovere un senso di coinvolgimento della comunit\u00e0; tutti i membri del comitato sono stati coinvolti nello sviluppo dei nostri ideali. Il gruppo ha anche co-sviluppato il <strong>principi del comitato<\/strong> con i membri, tra cui <strong>non usare i telefoni<\/strong>essendo un <strong>ascoltatore attivo<\/strong>, e <strong>essere aperti all'apprendimento reciproco<\/strong>. Tutti questi metodi hanno approfondito il livello di coinvolgimento dei membri nella direzione del comitato, creando un maggiore senso di coinvolgimento personale e di responsabilit\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Attivit\u00e0 di riunione<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All'inizio dello YCAC, l'attenzione si \u00e8 concentrata sulla crescita delle conoscenze del gruppo in materia di giustizia ambientale, che sono diventate parte integrante della creazione di progetti nei mesi successivi. Questo aspetto educativo iniziale del gruppo ha permesso ai membri di imparare gli uni dagli altri, di entrare in contatto tra loro e di prepararsi ad affrontare le questioni climatiche con integrit\u00e0 e intersezionalit\u00e0. I leader hanno cercato di portare l'educazione alle riunioni con molte attivit\u00e0 diverse. Nella prima attivit\u00e0, i membri hanno creato dei mini progetti per insegnare agli studenti le questioni ambientali. Questa attivit\u00e0 ha permesso ai membri di conoscersi e di creare un'idea incentrata su un argomento di interesse comune. Come nel Modello ONU, i membri sono stati suddivisi in diversi Paesi o regioni e hanno lavorato per sviluppare accordi sui finanziamenti e sulle emissioni di CO2. Questi accordi sono stati poi inseriti nel simulatore e hanno mostrato al gruppo l'impatto che la loro legislatura avrebbe avuto se fosse stata attuata.
