Nous avons r\u00e9cemment interview\u00e9 <strong>Jardin botanique de Norfolk <\/strong>(NBG) <strong>Pr\u00e9sident et directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Michael Desplaines<\/strong> pour en savoir plus sur la solution de r\u00e9duction des \u00e9missions de carbone du jardin, qui consiste \u00e0 passer \u00e0 l'\u00e9nergie renouvelable.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parlez-moi un peu de l'approche de l'ENB en mati\u00e8re de r\u00e9duction des \u00e9missions de CO2 sur le campus. Quels types de panneaux solaires utilisez-vous actuellement sur votre campus ? Quelle proportion du campus est actuellement aliment\u00e9e par l'\u00e9nergie solaire ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Le GFNB s'est engag\u00e9 \u00e0 devenir un leader en mati\u00e8re d'action et de d\u00e9fense de l'environnement. Nous voulons utiliser notre leadership pour inspirer les autres et mettre en \u0153uvre des solutions \u00e0 la crise environnementale. Nous utilisons un contrat d'achat d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, la production solaire et un syst\u00e8me de chauffage, de ventilation et de climatisation pour r\u00e9duire notre empreinte carbone sur le campus.<\/p>\n<p>La production d'\u00e9nergie de nos panneaux solaires a permis de r\u00e9duire de 61% la consommation d'\u00e9nergie du r\u00e9seau pour l'effet de serre. NBG utilise 100% d'\u00e9nergie renouvelable achet\u00e9e \u00e0 Dominion Energy. 10% de notre \u00e9nergie est produite sur notre campus par des panneaux solaires. L'\u00e9nergie que nous achetons est une combinaison de 34% de biomasse et de 56% d'\u00e9nergie solaire. Depuis cette ann\u00e9e, nous avons consomm\u00e9 550 m\u00e9gawatts d'\u00e9nergie issue de la biomasse.<\/p>\n<p>NBG utilise des panneaux solaires Axitec-AC-330\/156 de 330 Watt, 72 CELL, 40 MM Monocrystalline Silicon (120). Vous trouverez ci-dessous la quantit\u00e9 de MWh produite sur le site de NBG par ann\u00e9e :<\/p>\n<p><strong>2018 - 18 MWh<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>2019 - 55MWh<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>2020 \u00e0 ce jour - 44 MWh<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nous avons \u00e9galement modernis\u00e9 notre syst\u00e8me de chauffage, de ventilation et de climatisation en le dotant d'unit\u00e9s \u00e0 haut rendement \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique qui utilisent des r\u00e9frig\u00e9rants respectueux de l'environnement. L'un des objectifs de notre transition \u00e9tait d'\u00e9liminer les chlorofluorocarbones (CFC), les hydrofluorocarbones (HFC) et les hydrofluorool\u00e9fines (HFO), ainsi que les effets nocifs de leur production. Les immeubles de bureaux repr\u00e9sentent 49% de la charge de carbone dans le monde et le changement de r\u00e9frig\u00e9rants et d'\u00e9quipements permet de r\u00e9duire l'empreinte carbone de 39%.&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nQu'est-ce qui vous a incit\u00e9 \u00e0 commencer \u00e0 utiliser des \u00e9nergies renouvelables ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La r\u00e9glementation de la Virginie en mati\u00e8re d'\u00e9nergie renouvelable a chang\u00e9 depuis notre changement, mais \u00e0 l'\u00e9poque, l'utilisation d'un fournisseur secondaire n'\u00e9tait pas une option. Nous n'avons pas consomm\u00e9 suffisamment d'\u00e9nergie pour remplir les conditions requises par les r\u00e9glementations de l'\u00c9tat (5 GWh). Nous n'\u00e9tions pas satisfaits du pourcentage des trois sources d'\u00e9nergie, mais elles sont devenues plus conformes \u00e0 nos objectifs au fil des ans. La principale raison pour laquelle nous avons continu\u00e9 \u00e0 utiliser le programme d'\u00e9nergie verte de Dominion est de favoriser le d\u00e9veloppement d'une \"\u00e9nergie verte\" abordable et rentable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment \u00eates-vous entr\u00e9 en contact avec le programme Green Power de Dominion et quelles sont, selon vous, les principales raisons d'utiliser ce service ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alors que les r\u00e9glementations \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques ont chang\u00e9 dans toute la Virginie, NBG a voulu soutenir davantage l'industrie croissante de l'\u00e9nergie renouvelable. Le programme Green Power de Dominion soutient la cr\u00e9ation d'emplois verts, r\u00e9duit les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre et contribue \u00e0 l'expansion des ressources \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques renouvelables de l'Am\u00e9rique. La raison principale pour laquelle nous avons continu\u00e9 \u00e0 utiliser ce programme est de favoriser le d\u00e9veloppement d'une \u00e9nergie verte abordable et rentable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parlez-nous de la mani\u00e8re dont vous avez interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 l'utilisation de l'\u00e9nergie verte de NBG pour les visiteurs. Quels liens avez-vous \u00e9tablis avec la communaut\u00e9 et avec la gestion individuelle de l'environnement ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pr\u00e8s de 400 000 visiteurs explorent nos magnifiques jardins chaque ann\u00e9e. Notre message sur l'environnement est une caract\u00e9ristique importante, tant en personne que sur notre site web. Notre boutique de souvenirs propose des livres sur le changement climatique et sur les alternatives aux plastiques \u00e0 usage unique.<\/p>\n<p>La section \"Sc\u00e8ne verte\" de notre bulletin d'information met l'accent sur nos initiatives environnementales et les am\u00e9liorations que nous avons apport\u00e9es sur le campus, encourageant les lecteurs \u00e0 suivre notre exemple. Notre solide programme de formation pour adultes est ax\u00e9 sur l'\u00e9ducation \u00e0 l'environnement. En avril dernier, Convert Solar devait donner un cours sur l'\u00e9nergie verte, mais celui-ci a \u00e9t\u00e9 annul\u00e9 en raison de la pand\u00e9mie.
