Aim to Sustain
As supported by our values, especially that of Stewardship and Ambition, Playhouse Square aims to lead the nation’s performing arts industry with best-in-class sustainability efforts.
Our path toward Aim to Sustain includes:
+ Measuring and minimizing all identifiable environmental impacts related to our operations and supply chain, including greenhouse gas emissions, energy, chemicals, plastics and water use, and waste generation.
+ Involving and encouraging our board, staff, volunteers, visiting artists and performers, resident and affiliate companies, vendors, sponsors, audience members, District businesses and residents to participate with, and support us on, strategies to create a more sustainable work, theater, and District eco system.
+ Supporting the greenhouse gas reduction goals of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Accordingly, we aspire to achieve a 50% reduction in our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and we aspire to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. Complying with all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations.
+ Communicating publicly and accurately about the environmental progress we and our partners are making,
+ Making available our expertise to colleagues and our community. while encouraging environmentally responsible behavior by theaters, producers, and audiences throughout the nation.
