Recientemente hemos entrevistado a <strong>Jard\u00edn Bot\u00e1nico de Norfolk <\/strong>(NBG) <strong>Presidente y Director General Michael Desplaines<\/strong> para saber m\u00e1s sobre la soluci\u00f3n de reducci\u00f3n de carbono del jard\u00edn, consistente en pasar a utilizar energ\u00edas renovables.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>H\u00e1blame un poco del enfoque de NBG para la reducci\u00f3n de CO2 en el campus. \u00bfQu\u00e9 tipos de paneles solares utilizan actualmente en su campus? \u00bfQu\u00e9 parte del campus funciona actualmente con energ\u00eda solar?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NBG se ha comprometido a convertirse en l\u00edder de la acci\u00f3n y la defensa del medio ambiente. Queremos utilizar nuestro liderazgo para inspirar a otros y aplicar soluciones a la crisis medioambiental. Utilizamos un acuerdo de compra de energ\u00eda, producci\u00f3n solar y sistemas de calefacci\u00f3n, ventilaci\u00f3n y aire acondicionado para reducir nuestra huella de carbono en el campus.<\/p>\n<p>La producci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda de nuestros paneles solares ha reducido el consumo de energ\u00eda de efecto invernadero de la red en 61%. NBG utiliza 100% de energ\u00eda renovable comprada a Dominion Energy. 10% de nuestra energ\u00eda se produce en nuestro campus mediante paneles solares. Nuestra energ\u00eda comprada es una combinaci\u00f3n de 34% de biomasa y 56% de energ\u00eda solar. Hasta este a\u00f1o, hemos consumido 550 megavatios de energ\u00eda de biomasa.<\/p>\n<p>NBG utiliza paneles solares Axitec-AC-330\/156 de 330 vatios, 72 celdas, 40 MM de silicio monocristalino (120). A continuaci\u00f3n se muestra la cantidad de MWh producidos in situ en NBG por a\u00f1o:<\/p>\n<p><strong>2018 - 18 MWh<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>2019 - 55MWh<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>2020 hasta la fecha - 44 MWh<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n hemos modernizado nuestro sistema de calefacci\u00f3n, ventilaci\u00f3n y aire acondicionado con unidades energ\u00e9ticamente eficientes que utilizan refrigerantes respetuosos con el medio ambiente. Uno de los objetivos de nuestra transici\u00f3n era eliminar los clorofluorocarbonos (CFC), los hidrofluorocarbonos (HFC) y las hidrofluoroolefinas (HFO), as\u00ed como los efectos nocivos de su producci\u00f3n. Los edificios de oficinas representan 49% de carga de carbono en el mundo y el cambio de refrigerantes y equipos reduce la huella de carbono en 39%.&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n\u00bfQu\u00e9 le inspir\u00f3 para empezar a utilizar energ\u00edas renovables?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La normativa sobre energ\u00edas renovables de Virginia ha cambiado desde nuestro cambio, pero en aquel momento, recurrir a un segundo proveedor no era una opci\u00f3n. No consum\u00edamos suficiente energ\u00eda para acogernos a la normativa estatal (5 GWh). No est\u00e1bamos satisfechos con el porcentaje de las tres fuentes de energ\u00eda, pero con los a\u00f1os se han ido ajustando m\u00e1s a nuestros objetivos. La raz\u00f3n principal por la que seguimos utilizando el Programa de Energ\u00eda Verde de Dominion es fomentar el desarrollo de una \"energ\u00eda verde\" asequible y rentable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo se puso en contacto con el programa Green Power de Dominion y cu\u00e1les considera que son las principales razones para utilizar su servicio?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A medida que cambiaba la normativa energ\u00e9tica en todo Virginia, NBG quiso apoyar a\u00fan m\u00e1s el creciente sector de las energ\u00edas renovables. Nuestra s\u00f3lida programaci\u00f3n educativa para adultos se centra en la educaci\u00f3n medioambiental. El pasado mes de abril, estaba previsto que Convert Solar impartiera una clase sobre energ\u00eda verde, pero se cancel\u00f3 debido a la pandemia.
