Es muy f\u00e1cil ceder a una sensaci\u00f3n de derrota cuando se buscan soluciones a la amenaza cada vez m\u00e1s cercana, ya de por s\u00ed perjudicial y omnipresente del cambio clim\u00e1tico. Una de las herramientas m\u00e1s poderosas que tenemos contra este fen\u00f3meno es la acci\u00f3n colectiva. Contar con una red o un grupo de personas preocupadas por el cambio clim\u00e1tico hace que el activismo clim\u00e1tico sea una tarea mucho m\u00e1s accesible. Los grupos que re\u00fanen a activistas clim\u00e1ticos para aprender unos de otros, permiten que diferentes comunidades dentro del movimiento por la justicia medioambiental se unan y facilitan un sentimiento de fuerza colectiva y de comunidad. El Comit\u00e9 Asesor Juvenil sobre el Clima de Phipps cumple este prop\u00f3sito, reuniendo a estudiantes de distintos cursos, barrios y escuelas. Esto permite a cada miembro ampliar su red para futuras empresas, su conocimiento de temas medioambientales y su visi\u00f3n de c\u00f3mo son las soluciones intersectoriales y eficaces al cambio clim\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creaci\u00f3n del Comit\u00e9<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>El Conservatorio y Jard\u00edn Bot\u00e1nico Phipps cre\u00f3 su Comit\u00e9 Asesor Juvenil sobre el Clima (YCAC), formado por 20 estudiantes innovadores de secundaria y universidad, con tres objetivos comunes <strong>educar <\/strong>a s\u00ed mismos y a los dem\u00e1s, <strong>apoyar a sus comunidades<\/strong> mediante iniciativas relacionadas con el clima, y <strong>promover el activismo clim\u00e1tico<\/strong> con especial atenci\u00f3n a la justicia medioambiental. La creaci\u00f3n de un espacio para debatir sobre el cambio clim\u00e1tico y la utilizaci\u00f3n de los recursos que se les conceden a trav\u00e9s de Phipps, permiti\u00f3 a los miembros del comit\u00e9 hacer o\u00edr su voz en la comunidad y trabajar activamente para lograr estos objetivos en forma de proyectos para toda la comunidad. En el verano de 2021 se realiz\u00f3 una convocatoria abierta a educadores p\u00fablicos y locales para encontrar estudiantes interesados en unirse a YCAC como miembros del comit\u00e9. Los l\u00edderes del comit\u00e9 desarrollaron reuniones con actividades que permitieron a los miembros trabajar juntos y utilizar habilidades de pensamiento cr\u00edtico para construir relaciones s\u00f3lidas en todo el comit\u00e9. Permitir diferentes formas de participaci\u00f3n, desde debates en peque\u00f1os grupos, debates en el comit\u00e9, hasta foros en l\u00ednea, diversific\u00f3 la forma de aportaci\u00f3n al comit\u00e9 permitiendo a todos los miembros compartir sus ideas y contribuir al grupo. A trav\u00e9s de esta colaboraci\u00f3n, se dio a los miembros autonom\u00eda sobre la direcci\u00f3n del comit\u00e9. A <a href=\"https:\/\/climatetoolkit.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Charter-Document-for-Youth-Climate-Advisory-Committee-1.pdf\"><strong>documento vivo<\/strong><\/a> se elabor\u00f3 para reflejar los valores y la misi\u00f3n del comit\u00e9 y fomentar un sentimiento de participaci\u00f3n comunitaria; todos los miembros del comit\u00e9 participaron en el desarrollo de nuestros ideales. El grupo tambi\u00e9n elabor\u00f3 el <strong>principios de la comisi\u00f3n<\/strong> con los miembros, que inclu\u00edan <strong>no usar tel\u00e9fonos<\/strong>siendo un <strong>oyente activo<\/strong>y <strong>estar abiertos a aprender unos de otros<\/strong>. Todos estos m\u00e9todos profundizaron el nivel de participaci\u00f3n de los miembros en la direcci\u00f3n del comit\u00e9, creando un mayor sentido de implicaci\u00f3n personal y responsabilidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Actividades de la reuni\u00f3n<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Al principio del YCAC, la atenci\u00f3n se centr\u00f3 en aumentar el conocimiento del grupo sobre la justicia medioambiental, que se convirti\u00f3 en parte integral de la creaci\u00f3n de proyectos en los meses siguientes. Este aspecto educativo inicial del grupo permiti\u00f3 a los miembros aprender unos de otros, conectar como iguales y prepararse para abordar los problemas clim\u00e1ticos con integridad e interseccionalidad. Los l\u00edderes trataron de aportar educaci\u00f3n a las reuniones con muchas actividades diferentes. En la primera actividad, los miembros crearon miniproyectos para ense\u00f1ar a los estudiantes cuestiones medioambientales. Esta actividad permiti\u00f3 a los miembros conocerse y crear una idea centrada en un tema en el que ten\u00edan un inter\u00e9s com\u00fan. Al igual que en el Modelo de Naciones Unidas, los miembros se dividieron en diferentes pa\u00edses o regiones y trabajaron para desarrollar acuerdos sobre financiaci\u00f3n y emisiones de CO2. Estos acuerdos se introdujeron en el simulador y mostraron al grupo el impacto que tendr\u00eda su legislatura si se aplicara.
