It wasn\u2019t long ago that many of us in the world of cultural institutions felt that if our mission didn\u2019t explicitly state that we should be concerned with the environment and climate change, we were off the hook \u2014 to attend to these concerns was a form of \u201cmission creep,\u201d and environmental initiatives were best led by environmental causes. But times have changed, and they have changed rapidly: science tells us that climate change is real, advancing at an alarming rate and that it will affect everyone and everything on the planet. Today, the trust that we have established in the communities we serve and our decades of commitment to the exploration of science, history, art, and nature compel us to not only address these issues but to emerge as the leaders of change in our regions and beyond. Each and every one of us must do all we can as quickly as we can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Hauptursache f\u00fcr den Klimawandel ist unser Lebensstil und die Art und Weise, wie wir \u00fcber unsere Beziehung zur Welt denken. Das Toolkit wurde entwickelt, um Fragen des Lebensstils anzusprechen und uns zu ermutigen, die Welt aus einem regenerativen Blickwinkel zu betrachten. Wir haben f\u00fcr verschiedene Schl\u00fcsselbereiche vorgeschlagene Kennzahlen erstellt, um Ihnen den Einstieg zu erleichtern, und wir hoffen, dass Sie auf Ihrem weiteren Weg \u00fcber diese Vorschl\u00e4ge hinausgehen und neue Ansatzpunkte finden werden, wo Sie die gr\u00f6\u00dfte Wirkung erzielen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ein Hauptvorteil des Toolkits besteht darin, dass es Organisationen die M\u00f6glichkeit gibt, sich \u00fcber ihre Arbeit auszutauschen, Mentoren zu finden und von anderen in unserem Bereich neue Wege zum Umgang mit dem Klimawandel zu lernen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In den vielen Jahren, in denen wir bei Phipps Nachhaltigkeitsinitiativen anf\u00fchren, haben wir festgestellt, dass wir den Klimawandel nicht durch die Ma\u00dfnahmen einer einzelnen Institution oder einer einzelnen Person eind\u00e4mmen k\u00f6nnen. Wir m\u00fcssen zusammenarbeiten.<\/strong> Unsere Abteilungen f\u00fcr Bildung, Einrichtungen, Nachhaltigkeit, Marketing, Gartenbau, Sammlungen und andere Abteilungen haben wesentlich dazu beigetragen, Praktiken zu etablieren und weiterhin an der Bew\u00e4ltigung des Klimawandels zu arbeiten und gleichzeitig in unserer Gemeinschaft aktiv zu sein. Wenn \u00f6ffentliche Einrichtungen und ihre Fachleute zusammenarbeiten, k\u00f6nnen wir wertvolle Informationen und erfolgreiche Modelle austauschen, uns gegenseitig Fragen beantworten, unsere Gemeinden einbinden und uns gegenseitig auf unserem Weg zur Nachhaltigkeit unterst\u00fctzen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
